Who Were The Wright Brothers?
The Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, were born in 1871 and 1867 (respectively) in Dayton (Orville) and Millville (Wilbur) Ohio. Their parents were of German-Swiss descent. They were average students throughout life, though Orville was prone to mischief and once expelled. Of the two, only Wilbur got a highschool diploma, and as young man opened a small publishing company that circulated a local newspaper, though it ended quickly. Later, taking advantage of the new bicycle craze, the brothers opened up a small repair shop, which later turned into a full blown business. They produced their own style of bikes, which allowed for them to start investing in their ideas of the air plane.
