Born August 19, 1871
Orville Wright was born on August 19, 1871 on Hawthorne Street in Dayton, Ohio. According to him, his parents Bishop Milton Wright and Susan Catherine Wright created a very loving and understanding atmosphere in the household, which lead Orville and his brother Wilbur to follow many intellectual curiosity's that would eventually lead to the brothers creating the plane. Throughout school, Orville was an average student, though he was more prone to getting into trouble and fights than his counterpart Wilbur. He dropped out of high school and never recieved his diploma. He opened a small printing business, which his brother later came in and helped him with. They both worked there for a few years, and published two separate papers at different points in time. He later dropped the paper company and the brothers, taking advantage of the latest bicycle craze, opened Wright Brothers Bicycle Co. (Later renamed to the Wright Cycle Company) and began manufacturing their own product. This endeavor was used to fund their growing in flight, and the aeronautic advances of the years 1890's further hardened the determination of the brothers. Though the two are usually believed to have had equal parts, Wilbur did more in the beginning than the Orville, though Orville later joined his brother in the industry. This lead to them to create the airplane and launch themselves into international fame. They purchases a hill property later in life together, though the property, which they called Hawethorne Hill, was only inhabited by Orville. He died January 30th, 1948, outliving his brother by almost 30 years.
